Making Good on Your Pledge
Going, giving, doing, saying… sometimes it can feel like our relationship with God is dependent on being good at those things. 1John 5:11-13 tells another story:
“And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.”
Is this confidence part of your experience? Do you know you are in Christ and He is in you?
Who’s Performing?
Life in Christ is about trusting Him for the forgiveness of your sins and for the leadership of your life. We know that we belong to God forever, and that knowledge frees us to freely live for Him. The performance that matters is Christ’s. His performance on the cross on our behalf means we do not do our work in life to earn His favor; we work instead in the joy of what He has given us to do each day.
Step by step, God will work his life into us until we see Him face to face.
