At age 30 Dr. Charlie Edward Dates became the youngest Senior Pastor at Chicago's Progressive Baptist Church. He earned the Bachelor of Arts Degree in Speech Communication and Rhetoric at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and both the Master of Divinity and PhD at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois. He also serves as an Affiliate Professor at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He is a contributing author to the 2014 book Letters To A Birmingham Jail, and the 2019 book, Say It: Celebrating Expository Preaching in The African American Tradition. God has immensely blessed the Progressive Church to grow deep and wide under Pastor Charlie's leadership. He is married to Kirstie Dates and is the proud father of their children Charlie Edward Dates II and Claire Elisabeth Dates.

Eric is the Lead Pastor at The Brook, a multiethnic church in Chicago that he and his team planted in 2013. Eric is passionate for mobilizing the church to be on mission in an urban context. He has a B.A. in Bible Theology from Moody Bible Institute, M.Div. from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and a Ph.D. in Historical Theology at Trinity. Elizabeth works as an Institute Minister at The Village Church in Flower Mound, Texas, where she teaches classes on the Bible, theology, and spiritual formation. She is a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary with a Masters in Christian Education and a cohost of the podcast Culture Matters.Elizabeth Woodson is a bible teacher, writer, and speaker, who is passionate about communicating the rich theological truths of Scripture. She loves helping people internalize their faith and connect it practically to everyday life.
As a young boy in Ghana, Dela believed he was a Christian, but his faith was only superficial. As a university student he became involved with an Eastern religion. One day, while looking for holes in the faith he had rejected, he went to a Christian meeting. There he heard about a relationship with a living God and responded to the invitation to receive Christ. For nearly 40 years, Prof. Adadevoh has shared insights and experiences regarding leadership development with tens of thousands of people. He and his wife, Elizabeth, joined the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ International in 1980. Since 2010 he has served as Vice President for Global Leadership. Dela and Elizabeth have a son and two daughters and three grandchildren. They currently live in Orlando, Florida.
Jon Tyson is a Pastor and Church Planter in New York City. Originally from Adelaide Australia, Jon moved to the United States over 2 decades ago with a passion to seek and cultivate renewal in the Western Church. He is the author of Sacred Roots, A Creative Minority , The Burden is Light, and Beautiful Resistance. Jon lives in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood of Manhattan with his wife and two children. He serves as the Lead Pastor of Church of the City New York.

Learning to walk closely with Jesus, in his forgiveness and grace, through every season changed Angela’s life in college. She studied Kinesiology at the University of Michigan and has served on staff with Cru for 14 years. She loves restoring and making beautiful things through art, crafts and calligraphy when she’s not cruising on her rollerblades or spending time with her family. Lee has served on staff with Cru for 17 years, most of that time serving in St. Louis, MO where he lives with his wife, Laura and their four kids. He studied studio art at Webster University and enjoys creating with his hands - whether its drawing, leatherwork or cooking! Being raised on movies, Lee doesn't mind watching a good film a second, or third, or 20th time! He grew up going to church, but it was in college that Jesus captured his heart!
