ABOUT

We stand at a unique time in history. The kingdom of God is advancing at unprecedented speed and is reaching into some of the most difficult regions of the world. Many experts on missions agree that the fulfillment of the Great Commission is within reach of our generation. While individual churches and mission organizations are accomplishing incredible things, it seems that finishing the task will require a collaborative effort involving the entire body of Christ. This site is our way of extending our hand with an invitation to partnership.

For the advance of His kingdom,

Mike Whipple, Director of Cru’s Strategic Partnering, Christian Colleges

Cru's Guiding Principles to Partnership

Planting and growing movements that bring the reality of Jesus to every student and every faculty member will require a radical level of cooperation within the body of Christ. As we work together, we will discover and share overlapping spheres of expertise, responsibilities, influence and scope, but with a common aim and mission. Our desire is to see our partnerships established in a way that provides mutual benefit, as well as the advancement of the gospel. We believe these principles lay a solid foundation for working together.

RELATIONSHIP FIRST

The bedrock of effective partnering is trusting the relationship built between leaders over time. Building trust and understanding takes time, but an investment in that relationship lays the foundation necessary to establish goals and solve problems that arise.

PARTNERING AS PEERS

Every leader comes to the table as a peer and adult, not one-up or one-down. We all view one another both in need and with something to offer. Humbly receiving and generously giving will foster growth and maturity in our partnership and relationship. Every collaborative plan should include ways in which partners both give and receive in the mission.

SHARED RESPONSIBILITY

No single entity has all the necessary resources, but when we work together we can help fulfill our global mission. Shared responsibility opens access for collaboration in leadership expertise and knowledge. It also fosters an open-handed spirit that says, “We need you and can’t do this alone.” We affirm a commitment to agreed upon goals toward which we mutually strive.

ONE VOICE—ONE PLAN

Building bridges of understanding between partners is essential in leading a joint effort. Speaking with a united voice will build a trust among our teams and our joint leadership that will not only enable our teams to flourish in their mission, but also help build a lasting partnering relationship.

We started as a campus ministry at UCLA in 1951. Since then, Cru has expanded to reach inner cities, government leaders, athletes, the military, business professionals and more around the world. Today, there are over 50,000 students involved with Cru’s high school and collegiate campus ministry in more than 150 countries across the globe.

We exist to win, build and send Christ-centered multiplying disciples, and our vision is to see movements everywhere so that everyone knows someone who truly follows Jesus.

Cru is a nonprofit, interdenominational Christian organization. Our Statement of Faith is a great place to start in understanding our theological beliefs. We believe that God loves us. But we all have sinned and are in need of a Savior. God sent His son, Jesus, to pay the penalty for our sins by His death and resurrection. And we experience this gift of grace through faith in what Jesus has done for us. We believe in, follow and teach the Bible.
