Any college or high school student, university faculty, church mission teams, missions agencies, and Cru staff.
This is real, face-to-face direct ministry with the future leaders of the world - university and high school students. Your ministry will be focused on pioneering new movements on unreached campuses using specific tools designed for your location. Each day you'll be on an unreached campus - prayer walking, exploring, and talking with lots and lots of students. Our primary purpose is to find Christians and to challenge them to launch their own student movement. We will also plug them in to a Christian community while providing consistant coaching and encouragement.
One of the best parts of a Global Launch Trip is that you don't have to have any previous ministry experience. Each team will participate in three Training/Orientation meetings prior to the trip. These are led by Global Launch Trip coaches. There will also be ongoing collaboration regarding fund development and logistics.
Absolutely! It's great whenever a professor or instructor has an opportunity to participate on a trip! Faculty Commons (Cru's University Faculty ministry) will supplement $1000 to each faculty member and the Cru staff member who is bringing them on the trip.
Experiencing direct ministry with students overseas is really exciting and eye-opening! While traveling abroad with your team, you will have amazing experiences in a foriegn culture. Because of the brevity of a Global Launch Trip and the importance of the mission, all travel will be done as a team and the majority of your time will be in and around your ministry focus.
Usually 1 - 2 weeks, although they may extend to 3 weeks long. These trips will be customized for each team's availability/desire and the desires of our host countries.
From Austria to Zambia, South America through the 10/40 Window - almost anywhere! There are thousands of campuses around the world with no Christian movements. We partner with global staff in over 100 countries to help them get to their priority campuses.
Each participant is responsible for raising their total funding. Training and coaching are provided for each participant.
Depends on the length of the trip and the location, but typically between $1,500 - $2,300 per person. This cost will include your training and orientation, transportation, housing, and food. You will receive training on how to raise funds.
1. TRAINING. While overseas, those in your movement will be trained and challenged to initiate and share their faith with their peers.
2. PARTNERSHIP. Your local movement will get a vision for serving campus teams around the world who are in great need of help.
3. TRANSFERABILITY. The training and ministry experiences on a launch trip will transfer directly back to your local movement to help you reach your scope.
4. CULTURAL AWARENESS. These experiences will help grow compassionate awareness for the diversity of students in your local scope.
5. SUSTAINABILITY. Each launch trip is connected to a local team that will continue to invest in the work you’ve begun. It’s not a “one-and-done” event.
