Since 1967, we have been reaching out to youth across the United States and around the world.

Cru is a national organization with locally based teams, led by more than 600 full-time staff, interns and volunteers – all of whom are screened and trained to meet the unique issues that teens today face.

Our staff are dedicated to loving, equipping, and releasing the potential within every student on every campus.

Staff & Volunteer Frequently Asked Questions

We are members of your community – we shop at the local grocery store, attend the local festivals and celebrations, and worship at the churches in your community. We care about teenagers and want to see every students thrive in every aspect of their lives.

Each Cru staff member and volunteer completes a thorough application and interview process before being placed on a local team. After being accepted to serve with Cru, each individual completes an extensive training program with the guidance of a staff coach before and after engaging with students.

Throughout the year, staff participate in continuing education through webinars on various topics, theological coursework, and multiple regional and national conferences.

In addition, all Cru staff members and volunteers receive an annual, comprehensive background check.

Parents can choose to be actively involved with the Cru club at their student’s school by volunteering, bringing snacks to meetings or events, or serving at a regional or national conference after completing a background check. Some parents may also choose to receive updates or communication from Cru staff or volunteers as needed.

We are partners in the growth and development of students and we see parents and educators as essential partners in this process. Parents can choose to be as engaged or inactive as they would like.
