Perth is a metro city on the west coast of Australia with a population of over 2.3 million people. Between stunning beaches and wild bush land, lies this extremely multicultural city with more than 140,000 students, spread across it’s five leading universities. With 30% of those students being international students from China, Bhutan, Philippines, Vietnam, India, Kenya, and many other countries. Spending a month in Perth will allow you to interact with people from all over the world, even from some countries that Americans wouldn’t be able to physically get to in order to share their faith! One student who attended the Perth Summer Mission in 2022 was able to meet and talk with students from over 30 different countries!
The spiritual climate of Perth can be described as postmodern and apathetic towards the teachings of Jesus. Currently, the fastest growing religion in Perth is “non-religious.” The local Cru movement in Perth has been working hard to give opportunities for students to hear the gospel. On the Perth Summer Mission, we partner with the local Cru ministry by doing outreach on the campuses they are already building movements on. Our goals in being there is to engage with many students, share our faith, and connect those who are interested with the local Cru ministry!
