From Giotto to Gucci, Italians have shaped the world. However, few see past their amazing history and culture to recognize that today, there is huge need for the gospel. While 90% of Italy claims to be Catholic, fewer than 10% attend church more than once a year. Protestant churches are split, weak, and independent in the post-Christian, humanistic culture.
To the average Italian college student, Christianity is irrelevant and churches are for tourists and old people. Cru is bringing the light of Jesus to future culture shapers of Italy. In particular, the University of Padova is the third largest university in Italy, boasting over 60,000 students.
You will learn how to share your faith cross-culturally and build relationships with local Italian students. In addition, you’ll partner with a local church that hosts an English learning club, using Bible readings to teach Italian students how to speak English. The training and experience you’ll receive this summer will equip you for a lifetime of ministry.
So come and join us for an experience of culture and God’s work this summer, bringing the light of the gospel to university students walking in darkness!
