God's Faithfulness in My Fuel Journey

May 12, 2025

Taking the step of faith to join FUEL—Cru Singapore’s internship programme for fresh diploma and degree graduates—in 2024 was a decision I would never regret. Although I had some initial reservations about signing up, God is faithful and gave me the peace and comfort I needed to submit the application form. This decision played a key role in shaping who I am today.

Despite my apprehensions, I was excited as a fresh graduate to step into something new and unfamiliar. I signed up for this programme because I really wanted to gain exposure to missions and capture God’s heart for the nations. God honoured those desires, and my time as a FUEL intern reflects that.

One of the highlights of FUEL was the mission trip to South Korea with other interns and new staff. Having previously participated in BeyondBorders (shortterm missions project by Cru Campus Ministry), I was excited to experience campus ministry in a different cultural context and for the opportunity to share the gospel there. God has definitely placed a burden in me that was not there before—to have deeper compassion for the lost and a greater desire to reach out to them with the love of Christ—and has shown me that He truly is a God who pursues every single individual.

I served with the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Cru Campus Ministry during my internship, where I experienced discipling university students only a few years younger than I am. There is something very precious about impacting others who may be facing similar struggles to those I went through in my own faith journey as a university student.

I have loved and cherished every moment of the training sessions as well. Balancing ministry with training was definitely not easy, but it has been such faith-building experience for me. It has created in me a greater desire to know God’s Word more than I ever have before, and has given me more confidence to face challenging evangelism scenarios.

As I went through training alongside peers who are in similar walks of life as me, I am reminded that I am never alone on this journey! It has also been such a great blessing to have the opportunity to learn and grow alongside senior staff who have been serving God in Cru for many years, many of whom have faced challenges similar to mine. Hearing their stories about what it looks like to live by faith, to stand firm on God’s promises, and to believe that He will deliver us from all our fears (Psalm 34:4) has been a rewarding part of my internship.
