The Middle East is the birthplace of Jesus, and yet most people in this area of the world do not know him. For many years, people have prayed, gone, lived, and ministered in this part of the world. Until recently, very few would respond to the Gospel, but now Jesus is doing something new and unique in our history here as he shows up in visions, dreams, and is drawing people to himself at an incredible rate. In John 4, Jesus tells his disciples to “lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest...I sent you to reap that for which you did not labor. Others have labored, and you have entered into their labor.” Just as it was true in that village in Samara, it is true right now in the Middle East. Historically, this has been one of the “hardest to reach” areas of the world, but Jesus is currently drawing people to himself frequently. We have the privilege to join into what he is doing, and be transformed as we engage in ministry.
