Want a mid-career change?

God may call you from marketplace to trust Him for a career in advancing His Kingdom.

Now is the time to make missions a full-time job.

You have been thinking about serving in full-time ministry for a while and you are wondering if it is the right fit for you.

We have had former business owners, teachers, secretaries, administrators, accountants and coaches join us as employees during their mid-career switch.

Yes, we need people like you, as long as you are willing and God is directing you.

How Jonathan* and Michelle* made the Switch

At an overseas missions conference, Jonathan* sensed God calling him to reach out to a certain people group.

When Cru Singapore was looking for someone to fill an IT position, Jonathan* responded as he saw it as an avenue to use his IT skills to contribute to reaching the lost.

That opportunity became a stepping stone to serving overseas to help reach the people group that God has long laid in his heart.

In 2014, Jonathan and his wife Michelle* packed up and left Singapore to serve with Cru in a creative-access country. Using their professional skills in IT and finance gained in the marketplace, they are helping missionary teams to achieve greater fruitfulness in fulfilling the Great Commission.

“Obedience to God’s calling was the reason we joined Cru. As mid-career professionals, we felt that God has prepared and equipped us with marketplace qualifications, skills and talents (IT and Finance) that could be used in the area of Operations to build capacity for the ministry.”

“The key for us is surrendering our ‘five loaves and two fish’—our corporate experience—to God and using these to bless the Operations and Young Professionals ministry in which we serve.”

Ming Hock Wanted to Build into Men and Young Fathers

“It is my heart’s desire to reach men and young fathers. I believe when a man leads himself well in the Lord, he will also lead his family well in the ways of the Lord.”

“In my previous career as a school teacher in Singapore and during the short-term mission trips that I've gone on, I saw how families can be adversely affected when a man fails to lead himself well. Many times, the converse holds true too.”

“In Cru’s Truth Living Ministry, I have the opportunity to reach out to men and journey with them in their issues. With the grace of God, I desire to disciple these men to be like Christ, creating spiritual movements wherever they go.”

- Lim Ming Hock, on staff since 2015

Felicia Desired to Pay it Forward

“Being part of the Cru community when I was on campus was one of the most wonderful blessings from God. My faith was sparked as I was surrounded by disciples of Jesus who were hungry for God and who multiplied their spiritual life into mine.”

“Participating in campus evangelism opened my eyes to see the heart cry hidden in every soul.”

“I owe my thanks to Cru for showing me what it means to be a disciple of Christ and for shepherding my faith walk. Because of how Cru had impacted my life, I desired to work with Cru to help make a difference in the lives of others.”

“So after working for three years as an administrator in a polytechnic, I decided that it wasn’t too much to give a few years of the forty odd years of working life ahead of me then, to God to serve in a ministry that has been life-giving to me when I was a student.”

“As I committed the desire to the Lord, God has assured me through His gentle and certain promptings in my heart to take the next faith step and join Cru as a staff in 2015.”

- Felicia Chua, on on staff since 2016
