Urban Immersion™ - Inner City Milwaukee

Spring break is short — Urban Immersion makes the most of it. Why not impact a city? There are great needs in the city and there are many people who need to hear about the love of Christ.

The next chance for us to host Urban Immersion will be in 2025. Check back for details.

Cost = approx. $300

  • This covers all post-arrival expenses; all housing expenses, all meals except one and all ground transportation. You will need a little extra money for one meal and any personal spending.
  • Scholarships are available for qualifying Urban Immersion groups ($1,000 per group). For information and an application go to: http://www.kurtwarner.org/projects.html

Basic Requirements for Inner City Milwaukee:

  • Group reservations of at least ten people. (If this is a problem, ask the UI City Coordinator to try to link you with another group.)
  • At least one staff person to attend with each group. (Some exceptions made.)
  • Participation for the entire Urban Immersion week.
  • A 20% non-refundable deposit is due as soon as possible to reserve your spot with each city. Spots are limited and often fill up quickly, so send in your deposit early.
  • All participants must be at least 18 years old.

Housing:

  • TBD

What to Bring:

  • You will need a Bible, a notepad, toiletries, sleeping bag, pillow, towel. Bring casual clothing, work clothing. Students are more than welcome to bring musical instruments and music for worship times. When packing for the week, remember that you will be staying in close quarters and space will be limited.

Age Restrictions:

  • All college levels are welcome, including graduate students.
  • All participants must be at least 18 years old.

Transportation

  • We will use students' cars and/or public transportation for most of our transportation needs. You are responsible for your own transportation to Milwaukee. Students are encouraged to bring their own cars.

Urban Immersion (UI) will expand your view of God and give you a greater understanding of the city. And you will minister cross-culturally, making you more effective back on campus. In the inner city you can share the gospel with the homeless, tutor children, counsel teenagers, rebuild broken buildings and broken lives... demonstrating Christ's love to lost individuals.
