Cru Military Impact Stories

An Open Door to Cameroon Sailors

In Cameroon, doors are opening for ministry among the military. Last year, Cru Military® trained local pastors to share Christ and disciple men and women in uniform. This year, that training bore fruit in an unexpected way.

Six trained pastors were invited to join Agustin Tchenkoua, Cru Military’s Africa Area of Operation Director, at the Douala Naval Base where 85 sailors gathered. Using Spiritually Fit—Ready to Serve booklets in English and French, the team shared the gospel, led small-group discussions, prayed with the men, and listened to their stories. Forty-two sailors accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior that day! Each received a Bible on a memory stick and an invitation to join a WhatsApp discipleship group for continued growth.

As the team prepared to leave, 54 more soldiers arrived — hungry for truth. They, too, received booklets and Bibles. Augustin reflected, “May God guide each one as they read, leading them to commit fully to Jesus Christ!”

Since 1951, Cru has helped individuals who grapple with integrating faith into daily life by offering practical steps and community support. As a result, countless people in over 190 countries have been empowered to move from passive belief to active faith.
