I Thank God for Bringing Me Here

Professional football player Tommy Roadley Trohatos trained at the Athletes in Action Sports Complex in 2020 through 2021 to pursue his dream. He became a follower of Jesus in the process.

Since this video was originally produced, Tommy has played in some professional American football leagues; he currently plays for Caudillos de Chihuahua in the Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional (the top league in Mexico).

AIA is like a family, you get to know everyone, it's not fake —  it's really personal relationships and after that you know, the training part.

I thank God for bringing me here to like train for my, my dream and ending up having such an incredible experience.

My name is Tommy Roadley Trohatos, I'm from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. My football aspirations are to play professional football either NFL or CFL while impacting people you know throughout my journey.

Because of the COVID situation when I got back home I decided to uh really you know look into places where I could train and ended up choosing like Athletes in Action because of the program they offered. 

So AIA is like set apart because like most of the places I looked at were training — you know you want to become a better athlete.

Obviously that's the main goal but at the end of the day we're not just athletes, I'm not defined by football. I wanted to grow as a person so I saw the the more the leadership and mentorship program then I saw the spiritual work. 

I've always wanted to explore my relationship with God and what it really means to be a Christian so when I got here I really wanted to say yes to every opportunity to like, explore that.

I went to church for the first time, what I was expecting was, you know, two hours of somebody just reading the Bible and Pastor Stephen, like different type of pastor, you know somebody that I could really really relate to. He'll take the Bible verse and then put it into a you know modern day society, and it was it was fun, like I I really liked it and I chose to follow God and you know being here just helped me get that much closer to him. 

I thank God for bringing me here like never would I have thought that I came to Zenia, Ohio to train for my my dream and ending up having such an incredible experience. 

What you guys did for me is incredible, like uh you guys made the experience uh, at home experience with all of these assets of training and you know Bible study and then mentorship and leadership and surrounding myself for my future with people like you.

You know I'm not going to walk the earth and walk on water but I want to be someone that walks the earth and inspires others to believe in God.
