May 9, Xenia: Tony Dungy to be honored for lifetime of service, community impact
XENIA, OH., April 21, 2026—Sports celebrities and fans will come together for a weekend of celebration at the 2026 Hall of Faith Induction, hosted by international sports ministry Athletes in Action. Tony and Lauren Dungy will be honored for outstanding character, leadership and faith, as well as their ongoing commitment to the community.
“Athletes in Action is honored to celebrate Tony and Lauren Dungy for their commitment to living out their faith, outstanding character and ongoing community contributions,” said Eric Nelson, president of Athletes in Action. “The Dungys have made an impact in the lives of many–even our community here in Xenia. Their ongoing legacy is one of inspiring others to live for Christ and succeed in all aspects of life.”

Saturday, May 9, 10 - 10:45 a.m. ET: Storytime with the Dungys and children involved with the Greene and Montgomery County foster care systems. Throughout nearly 30 years of involvement in the foster care system, the Dungys have fostered more than 100 children.

Saturday, May 9, 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. ET: The Dungy’s induction into the “Hall of Faith.” The event, featuring Former NFL player and executive Troy Vincent, celebrates the legacy of individuals who demonstrate faith and integrity on the field, court and track—and in life.

The “Hall of Faith” award is presented to one male and one female from the world of sports, who best exemplify outstanding character, integrity and faith—whether on the field of competition, in the home or in the community. Previous “Hall of Faith” inductees include sports MVP of Super Bowl I and II Bart Starr, NFL Hall-of-Fame member Anthony Munoz, CBS Basketball Lead Analyst Clark Kellogg, former head coach of North Carolina State Kay Yow, four-time Olympian Madeline Manning-Mims, 2011 WNBA MVP Tamika Catchings, Olympic Gold Medalist Allyson Felix and Loyola Marymount assistant men’s basketball coach Lorenzo Romar.
