Today's young adults, while described as the most unchurched generation in America's history, are not without hope. Millennials stand boldly against hypocrisy, evil, and injustice. They want to be a part of making the world a better place by righting wrongs and meeting needs in the context of deep and meaningful relationships. Cru believes that God is using this generation to make a difference in cities across the globe. We are convinced that as Jesus heals their hearts, their passion will be contagious and His love will go viral. We are committed to helping them to ignite their passion, connect with Jesus, and to live out His purpose in every facet of their lives.
Many of the devastating effects of poverty are due to a lack of options. The inner-city ministry of Cru builds partnerships with inner-city churches to help increase their capacity to reach out to the poor with options. We offer products and programs to our partners which address the needs of the poor. We equip these churches to construct developmental programs for children and adults. Everything we do helps our partners pioneer ministries of evangelism and discipleship in the context of compassion.
The arts are incredibly important in our cities, both publicly and personally. Art has the ability to create a common experience and a common language and can be a catalyst for renewal for the good of the city. Art by its very nature can impact our hearts and minds in a way that few things can. We are excited to see artists utilize their platforms to speak into culture, to find new ways to encourage and develop emerging artists in their calling, and to partner with other organizations and causes to see the arts articulate and address the needs of cities to advance the mission of Jesus.
Transform Arts is an initiative of Cru, City Arts. We are a community of artists, from young and emerging to established, seeking to wrestle with the deep questions of art, faith and culture. We hope to inspire this generation to engage the current culture, creating the world that ought to be through movements of innovative people who truly follow the Creator.
