Want to Start a Ministry on Your Campus - What is the Big Pictures

Our vision in Cru is launching movements everywhere until everyone knows someone who truly follows Jesus. You have the opportunity to be that “someone” who truly follows Jesus and has an eternal impact on those around you.

What do you think a movement is?

There is a great picture of a movement found in Acts 2:42-47.

And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.

How did this group of believers choose to live?

How did they advance the spread of the gospel?

What did God produce in and through their movement?

In Cru we define a movement as the collective activity of believers as they band together and trust God for an impact greater than they could do on their own.

We build movements:

  • by praying with hearts of dependence upon God,
  • by helping others encounter Jesus through the gospel,
  • by building them up to become mature followers of Jesus who know God’s Word,
  • and by sending those followers of Jesus out to the world to help others encounter Jesus and build them to maturity.

Simply put, we build movements by praying, winning, building, and sending. As we proceed, we will unpack each of those in more detail.
