Joy in Resting at Jesus’ Presence

With hectic schedules and deadlines, school activities can be stressful. Most often, students become overwhelmed by the amount of work that needs to be done, which leaves them feeling worn out by their circumstances. This is why Jesus tells us, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest," in Matthew 11:28. He desires to give peace and rest to His children, extending His strength to them.

Last January 8 & January 15 of 2026, CRU PUP created a booth on their main campus called “Bible Month Booth” together with PUP for Jesus Movement (PUPJM). This booth was designed for students who needed rest from university stress and even for their personal trials. To pause chasing time and allow Jesus to give them the word of encouragement they need. They shared the gospel with students who are interested in knowing Jesus more, invited others to play fun games and activities, prayed for those who are in need of prayers, and gave out bible verses and freebies.

Resting is not just about being alone at home, taking a nap, or having your comfort food after a long day. In God’s presence, it means letting go of all the worries and letting Jesus give you peace. One can also be strengthened and refreshed through a community that is able to understand and love, just like how Jesus does. The joy of being in His presence is enough to make our weariness go away, like how he carries our yoke.

Being in a community is important. This is why CRU encourages every student to be part of a group where they can find belongingness and acceptance. The more we look at how Jesus works in our lives, the more we will be amazed by how gracious and good He is to others too.
