GAIN: Davao Medical Mission 2026

GAIN PH and GAIN Australia launched a Medical Mission in Davao last February 2026. With a mind to share healing and compassion with the Filipino people, their hearts were full as they accepted the call to aid those who need medical assistance in the province. Just like how Jesus connected with people through healing and miracles, the team was reminded that healthcare is also a way to connect with others, not just through physical assistance, but also through mental and emotional health. To hear the stories untold by the people and to journey with them through quality care.

They conducted seven clinics across the province of Davao. By the grace of God, they were able to assist over 900 patients through medical consultation and distribute over 400 pairs of glasses to those with low eyesight. They were also able to give sanitary pads to women in the communities, sending out support and care to every gender. The medical team also conducted a health education seminar in partnership with Magsaysay Church, where they discussed dental care, hygiene, and mental health. Their aim is not just to provide basic medical supplies and necessities, but also to help them understand the importance of taking care of themselves.

Jesus also took this opportunity to move in the lives of the people during the medical mission. One story from a volunteer doctor of the medical team named Shan shared how God uses moments to share His love with those who are in pain. During the medical consultation, one of her patients, who had multiple strokes due to high blood pressure and numerous physical impairments, started crying. She and her translator dropped everything to converse with the old man, and they listened to his story. The man shared that his son died a few years ago but is still in pain from losing his child. They were able to pray for her patient, surrendering the agony he feels. That day, the old man received both quality care and unconditional love from Jesus.

This is one of the many stories where God heals the body and also restores the heart. Our mission is not limited to earthly medication and care, but we also aim to lead them to our ultimate healer, the one who can bring true healing and transformation.
