What Type of Spiritual Gifts Do You Have?

These gifts are used to intercede on behalf of others: faith, healing and miracles.

We have grouped the specific gifts into categories to highlight the kinds of tasks God gives them for, not to restrict them to certain settings. God may use His gifts more broadly than we describe here.

The gift of faith is the ability to trust God to accomplish what needs to be done in difficult and seemingly impossible situations. Those with this gift are often visionaries who dream big dreams, pray big prayers and attempt big things for Jesus. They are often very convinced of the truth and power of God and His Word.

The gift of healing is the ability to call on God and trust Him to heal the sick through supernatural means for the purpose of revealing God. People with this gift see healing as a sign that God uses to reveal His power to people so that many will come to believe in Jesus. People with this gift may not see someone healed every time they ask God, since healing is something that God alone decides to do. (Galatians 4:13-14; 1 Corinthians 12:9)

The gift of miracles is the ability to call on God to do supernatural acts that reveal His power. People with the gift of miracles see God show up in extraordinary ways, from daily little events to major public displays. People with this gift do not chase signs and wonders, but they do believe God can powerfully intervene in the world.

Every follower of Jesus is called to make a spiritual difference in the lives of others. Your spiritual gifts were given to you by God to equip you to strengthen the faith and encourage the growth of others.

Now that you know more about your type of spiritual gift, how will you take a step toward using the gift God gave you?

The local church is a great place to start using and developing your gifts. What are some needs in the church and in the world that your gifts can meet?

Unlike the gifts just discussed, the role of the spiritual gift of tongues is debated among Christians. Some believe it is given to believers today while others believe it is not. Cru holds no position as to whether this gift is or isn’t active today. Our sincere desire is that no matter what someone is persuaded to believe about any spiritual gift, those views and practices wouldn’t cause division among Christians.
