Unexpectedly Exceeding

Years ago, a second-grader named Kayla was in her first year at a S.A.Y. Yes!® Center in Louisville when she exceeded expectation with her huge heart to share.

gospel beads braceletNear Easter time, S.A.Y. Yes! leaders gave the children Gospel Bead Bracelets and told the story of the Good News through the colored beads. They helped the children learn the scriptures that corresponded to each bead, and then challenged them to wear the bracelets to school that week so they could share the gospel with someone. They asked the kids to come back the next week with the name of someone they told about Jesus using the bracelet.

Although Kayla was often very quiet, she was also attentive and always engaged in the activities at the program. Much to the surprise of the staff, she returned the following week sharing about the bracelet, not with just one person but eighteen! She even brought a handwritten list of the names of each person she told about the gospel with her bracelet.

Kayla and her mother eventually moved away from the church, so for several years, Kayla lost touch there, but in that time she did not lose touch with the Lord. Recently she reconnected with the church and is now helping mentor other young children in the program there, much in the same way she'd been mentored in S.A.Y. Yes!

We are thankful for the impact the Lord can have on young lives through S.A.Y. Yes! Centers all across America. Please join us in praying for the children, mentors and volunteers involved in the program.
