Relevant Magazine recently observed something striking about Gen Z’s posture toward faith:
Isn’t it amazing how God is creating a new hunger for Him in this rising generation?
I’m filled with excitement for what God is stirring among students today. They want more than labels or traditions—they want a faith that is real, transformative, and alive. They are longing to see what Christ can do in and through their lives.
This was evident in the different conferences and summits that happened across the Philippines last month. Nearly 1,000 students, disciples, and church partners gathered—and many encountered God in fresh and powerful ways. There was a renewed passion, a deeper sense of calling, and a bold desire to bring the Gospel forward.
And the impact was immediate.
Right after the conferences, students began sharing their faith with family, friends, classmates, and even people they had never met before. One coordinator shared:
“Students in campuses like UP Tacloban set out to share Jesus intentionally by conducting a three–day evangelism campaign. It was fulfilling to see their boldness—even sharing the Gospel with schoolmates they didn’t know, including a Muslim.”
This truly is a resurgence—not one manufactured by our training or strategies, but something the Spirit of God is stirring in this generation.
Paul’s words to the Thessalonian church paint a picture of what could be for this generation—faith that spreads so naturally and powerfully that it becomes impossible to ignore.
1 Thessalonians 1:8 (ESV)
“For not only has the word of the Lord sounded forth from you in Macedonia and Achaia, but your faith in God has gone forth everywhere…”
My prayer is that this new generation of Christ–centered, multiplying disciples will make waves in the same way. That, like the believers in Thessalonica, the Gospel will continue to take deep root in their hearts—shaping their character, renewing their minds, and transforming their lives. That they themselves will testify to how the Gospel works, bringing real change and real hope.
And just as the faith of the Thessalonian church resounded far beyond their city, may the faith of this generation echo through their families, friends, communities, and campuses—wherever the Lord has placed them.
Let us continue to pray that God will raise up more laborers in this rising generation.
What we are witnessing is not just activity—it is a movement.
A resurgence.
A fresh work of God sweeping across the campuses of our nation.
