A Letter from Cru to our Students’ Parents

As a parent, you have worked hard to love, teach, and pass on your values to your child. However, as they grow older, they are influenced by various voices around them. Since our beginning in 1969, Cru has aimed to be a positive influence in the lives of students. We want to see students thrive in all areas of their lives, whether in school, with friends, or in their spiritual lives. We are here to support parents, schools, teachers, coaches, and administrators by speaking value and worth into the lives of every teenager we encounter.

We offer different levels of involvement to students, catering to their individual preferences. Our resources include mentoring, motivational talks to teams, and leadership workshops, which can benefit all students regardless of their faith background. For those who are interested in faith-based opportunities, we provide large group meetings, small group Bible studies, conferences, and leadership training.

It is essential for you to know that we deeply respect both you as a parent and the school as we work together to serve the students. Whether your child interacts with our staff or volunteers at a team event or during a weekly meeting, we value your wishes and adhere to the guidelines set by the school.

It is essential for you to know that we deeply respect both you as a parent and the school as we work together to serve the students.

We understand the importance of ensuring the safety of your teenager. That is why our staff and volunteers undergo a thorough application process and background check. We carefully select volunteers who genuinely care about students and can be trusted to act wisely and respectfully.

Just like your students, we offer parents various ways to get involved. We warmly welcome your assistance at the local level. Parents often get involved by hosting meetings, providing refreshments, volunteering for small groups and conferences, and assisting in raising funds for local outreach initiatives. We consider parents to be an integral part of our local team and greatly appreciate your involvement.

We are available to you and would love to hear from you. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to your local Cru staff person or volunteer. We would love to serve you and your family in any way we can.

Next Step

If you are a parent, we encourage you to reach out to your local Cru leaders. Whether you have concerns or questions, we love building relationships with parents in our community.

If you are a Cru leader, reach out to a parent today. Write an encouraging text or note, go out and meet the parents when they pick up their student, or plan a parent/volunteer meeting to help parents know more about your ministry.

Cru Promo Videos

It was once said that “A picture is worth a thousand words”. Well, if that’s true, a video is worth a million. As we talk about Cru with students, administration, donors, volunteers, parents, and others, having a video can sometimes help them get the feel of what we do.

Below you’ll find a few videos that do just that. And if you don’t find what you’re looking for, check our YouTube channels at Cru High School and Gotothecampus. If we’ve got it, it’ll be there.
