What is the Bible?
The Bible is God's primary way of revealing Himself to His people. We often wonder how we can know God more and hear from Him, and He's given us this through Scripture. God's Word is purposeful, active, equipping, exposing and transformative. It's like spiritual food; without it we will be severely malnourished.

GOD-BREATHED
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
ALIVE
For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart (Hebrews 4:12).
FRUITFUL
For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it (Isaiah 55:10-11).
CHRIST-CENTERED
You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me. - Jesus, (John 5:39).
“For me, the glory of God and the Word of God are inseparable.” – John Piper
The Bible shows us our need for — and the beauty of — Jesus Christ and His all-sufficient saving work on our behalf.
