Wendy Chen

Director

Wendy comes from an ethnically Chinese family, but was born and raised in South Korea, and immigrated to the United States as a child. She currently resides in Portland, Oregon and serves on the executive team for Cru City and has been on staff for 16 years; 6 of those with the Epic Movement. Wendy longs to see a generation of young women who will reject shame and know their true identity as image bearers of God. She loves nothing more than a table full of people she deeply loves, filled with good food and laughter. She currently resides in Portland, Oregon with her husband, Josh, and their four children.

Michele Davis

Host

Michele is the Director of Content and Communication for Cru’s U.S. National MPD Team and co-hosts The Created For Podcast and The Cru MPD Podcast. She likes to think deeply, laugh loudly and act as an unpaid personal shopper and fashion consultant for all of her friends. She’s currently  working on an MA in Christian Thought from Bethel University in Minneapolis. Michele and her husband Joe live in Columbus, Ohio with their two children, Lucy and Annabelle.

Mary Jacob

Social Media Coordinator

Mary has been on staff with Epic Movement for over 10 years. She was a team leader in the Washington D.C. Metro Area, where she still resides and now serves as a social media coordinator for Epic and Created For. Mary values understanding ethnic and cultural identity and desires to create safe spaces of flourishing and growth. She is married to Mobin and they have a little son and a dog. She also has a deep love for 90s and early 2000s’ R&B and hip hop.

Chealsia Smedley

Host and Podcast Producer

Chealsia is a writer who values compassionate truth-telling that uplifts and platforms the unique contributions of others. She has written for Cleveland Magazine, The Majuscule Lit, Cru Storylines and currently writes the Created For’s weekly newsletter. She recently moved to Ohio and joined the Created For team in the fall of 2022. Before that, she lived and worked with Cru in Ljubljana,Slovenia for seven years. Her happy place is speaking Slovene while dancing Lindy Hop– the energetic, Black American partner dance– to live jazz music.

Silverio Gonzalez

Content Strategist

Silverio has been on the U.S. Digital Strategies team with Cru for two years and is passionate about serving marginalized communities and championing inclusive design. He is an experienced podcaster, writer and editor. Alongside reading about UX design in his free time, Silverio also enjoys modern fantasy novels and books about theology and history. He and his wife Lisa live in Orlando, Florida with their two children.

Emily Stauffacher

Operational Support

Emily is an executive assistant in Cru City. She has been serving with Cru for 11 years and spent six of those years in campus ministry. She loves to decorate and create beautiful spaces. Emily and her husband, Alex, currently live in Orlando, Florida and can be found at Disney World or traveling to visit friends and family. She also has a deep love of donuts and tacos.
