Often, people who value belonging will try to figure out who they are based on what others say about them or what they can do for those around them. The world feels right when they have their group of close friends, “their people.”
When you look for value in outward things, like relationships, you constantly have to get more so you can feel you have worth.
The truth is you already belong. God created you for Himself. He loves you. He chose you to be part of His family.
When you start a relationship with God through Jesus, your identity is forever changed. You are His and He is yours. You don’t have to work or strive to be loved and accepted because you already are.
We don’t always know, or remember, what is true about us.
