Our children are more anxious, fretful, confused, and lonely than any other generation in recent memory. They want to make a difference, but do not see pathways they can step into that would allow them to make that difference. We want to acknowledge these realities while coming alongside them at the start of the school year next fall.
Purpose: We want to create an event that would organize all Indiana communities to care for students on every campus in their community (particularly public schools), thereby supporting and encouraging the well-being of all students in the state.
Why: We desire to seek divine intervention on behalf of students through prayer. We want to create opportunities to offer prayer, caring, and sharing for each student now and throughout the school year.
Who: This event is sponsored by five organizations who have spent decades investing in students in our communities and throughout the world. They are Child Evangelism Fellowship, Christian Educators, Cru Middle & High School Ministry, Moms in Prayer International, and Students Standing Strong. The target audience of this event is any adult – parent, grandparent, teacher, pastor, students – anyone who cares deeply for this generation of students.
What It Will Take: Statewide distribution of event information through various sources, such as radio PSAs, social media, churches, etc., for getting the word out about this event will be critical to its success. We will also need willing volunteers to make sure each school in every community is covered for the event.
How: We hope to recruit a coordinator for each campus. Once a coordinator registers, we will send the resources they need to organize and host a prayer walk for their school. We will provide coaching and support for any community that desires more assistance for the event and afterward.
