Social Media and Ministry Can Happen at the Same Time

The "social" in social media means that what you share can be heard, shared, and discussed by people beyond your circle of friends. Because of this, it's easy to be weary of using Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram for ministry purposes.

Did you see Felix Baumgartner jump out from space? 29 million people have seen just this one video! It's estimated an audience of at least 90 million people followed the event.

What might happen if you started using popular social media to catalyze discussions with those whom you would like to know about your faith? During Baumgartner's jump from space you could have walked up to almost any person and started a conversation about the event.

Faith is a personal and serious issue for people to discuss. Meaningful conversations rarely happen on a Facebook wall. But a Facebook wall is a great place to start or build a relationship, and media such as this video can be powerful tools to amplify your ministry efforts!
