The Award

Since 1988, the Bart Starr Award has honored NFL players who exhibit exemplary character and leadership in the home, on the field, and in the community.

The winner of the Bart Starr Award is determined by NFL player balloting at the end of the regular season, making the award one of the few individual honors selected by the players themselves.

Minnesota Vikings’ quarterback Kirk Cousins is the winner of the 2023 Bart Starr Award.

Past winners of the award include Russell Wilson, Eli Manning, Calais Campbell, Benjamin Watson, Peyton Manning, Troy Vincent, Drew Brees, Derrick Brooks and Anthony Muñoz.
