Senegal is a country whose capital, Dakar, sits on the most western point of Africa. The days are hot and humid; the nights retain the heat even after the sun fades over the horizon. French is the official national language, but Dakar is rich with indigenous African culture and language from people who have moved from their village to the city. Life is simple here. Relationships are valued, and time is given to engaging with the people around you.
Sadly, for the majority of the Senegalese, much time is also spent praying to and worshiping an impersonal god. Over 95% of the Senegalese population is Muslim. Every day, they continue these practices and need to hear that God is a personable God who offers hope and life through Jesus Christ.
Still, God is bringing Senegalese people to Himself. On project, we have the incredible opportunity to make an eternal impact in the lives of Senegalese students.
Join us this summer, as we interact with the college students on the main university campus in Dakar. Over several weeks, we will build relationships with the Senegalese and share Christ with them on campus daily. As we delve into their rich heritage and culture, we will also be able to share the most treasured part of our lives: Jesus Christ. We have an incredible opportunity to take the Gospel to the Senegalese, who can then take this message of hope and life to other African nations and the Middle East!
Will you consider joining us in taking the message of hope to a people who need to hear about God’s love and forgiveness?
