Mobilizing a Decade of Harvest

Share

Could 1 billion people hear the gospel in just one month? Go2020 seeks to mobilize Christians around the world this May. By equipping, training and resourcing people to tell those around them about Jesus, the potential for the gospel to be heard worldwide is multiplied exponentially.

The vision is to mobilize 100 million believers to spread the story of Jesus to ten people, reaching a total of 1 billion people in one month.

Though the movement places its emphasis on the month of May, Allan Beeber, Cru® project specialist and Go2020 liaison, believes Go2020 has the potential to be a launching point for the future.

“It’s not a temporary goal,” he said. “It is the beginning of a decade of harvest.”

Many Cru digital evangelism and discipleship tools will be used as resources to mobilize and equip participants to share their faith and help others take their next best step in their relationship with God.

Several other missions organizations and churches are partnering with Go2020 alongside Cru. Such ministries as Youth With a Mission, Promise Keepers and several church denominations have all joined the movement.

“The idea is not that we’re asking people to change what they’re doing,” Allan said. “We’re simply saying, are there ways that we can work more effectively together in collaboration and partnership than by just doing our own thing? Because no organization by itself can reach the world.”
