A Fall Retreat experience

I’ve always been yearning to find a Christian fellowship that loves God, are united as brothers and sisters in Christ, lifting each other in their spiritual walk with the Lord, encouraging one another, and rejoicing together.

My name is Linda Cruz, I’m a second year at CSULB and I was blessed to find out about Epic. The staff that works with Epic at Long Beach State are absolutely amazing, and the people there are just awesome.  Within the first few club meetings Epic really challenged my faith and was helping me grow stronger in the Lord. I ended up going to Southern California’s Fall Retreat this October and it was such a blessing! I’d have to say that I was a bit intimidated because my name shows I’m not Asian. Later I found it so silly because everyone, not only from my campus, but other campuses were so welcoming. The speakers were great; hitting topics that really spoke to me and things that I’ve been struggling with. God was able to use them to affirm His love for me. I also was introduced to Summer Projects and now I’m really taking it into consideration to see if God would want me to do something like that.

The Epic Fall Retreat was a type of fellowship that I had never experienced. To have people who genuinely cared about what I had to say, my feelings, and my testimony was so refreshing. I was able to meet people who were really encouraging, who wanted to know about me, so they can help me and advise me in the ways of God. I am forever thankful for those people. Going to the retreat was so refreshing, it was the boost I needed to keep going in my personal life and I am so so glad I was able to go and experience such communion!
