Tasha also encourages you to try this practice with a group of friends or as a starting point for a conversation with a family member.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are some guidelines to help, adapted from <em>Spiritual Disciplines Handbook<\/em> by Adele Ahlberg Calhoun.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Spend some time in stillness and invite the Holy Spirit to guide your time. Ask God to help you see with his eyes.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Take note of thoughts and feelings that arise when you\u2019re looking at the photo. Where do you feel connected? Where do you feel disconnected?&nbsp; What emotions or longings surface? What questions do you have?&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bring all of these things to God in prayer and remind yourself of His love for you, present in all of the aches and longings.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key Things To Remember:&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Longings Can Lead Us To Jesus. <\/strong>Tasha pointed out that sometimes we can be afraid of our longings or simply avoid them. But in her experience, she\u2019s seen her longings, specifically her longing to be loved and belong, lead her to Jesus and a deeper relationship with God.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Welcoming Ourselves. <\/strong>If you can\u2019t welcome yourself, meaning if you are cut off from the details of your design and from your own stories, it can be difficult to welcome the diverse perspectives and stories of others. Digging deeper into your ethnic background and stories helps you experience and extend the deeply rooted belonging we all crave.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Down Into The Details. <\/strong>God loves you comprehensively, like Tasha said, \u201cfrom your taste buds to your hair texture.\u201d Everyone is a unique reflection of God\u2019s image.
