Creatives are not only the people who play music, write poetry, or paint; Creatives are human beings that God created to reflect His creativity in the world. What are some of the ways that God has made you to create and share beauty with those around you?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Scripture to Study<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>But the more they were oppressed, the more they multiplied and the more they spread abroad. And the Egyptians were in dread of the people of Israel. So they ruthlessly made the people of Israel work as slaves and made their lives bitter with hard service, in mortar and brick, and in all kinds of work in the field. In all their work they ruthlessly made them work as slaves&#8230;Then Moses said to the people of Israel, \u201cSee, the LORD has called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah; and he has filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, with intelligence, with knowledge, and with all craftsmanship, to devise artistic designs, to work in gold and silver and bronze, in cutting stones for setting, and in carving wood, for work in every skilled craft.&nbsp; And he has inspired him to teach, both him and Oholiab the son of Ahisamach of the tribe of Dan.&nbsp; He has filled them with skill to do every sort of work done by an engraver or by a designer or by an embroiderer in blue and purple and scarlet yarns and fine twined linen, or by a weaver\u2014by any sort of workman or skilled designer. \u201cBezalel and Oholiab and every craftsman in whom the LORD has put skill and intelligence to know how to do any work in the construction of the sanctuary shall work in accordance with all that the LORD has commanded.\u201d&nbsp; (Exodus 1:12\u201314 and Exodus 35:30\u201336:1 ESV)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Wise Words to Consider<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhen we expand the picture of what it means to be creative, to make a creative space there are so many different ways, and because of that then we can see God show up in the ways that He has made us&#8230;It creates an opening so that we are also just more conscious and aware that God is moving in the things that we are doing, in the very mundane things of life. And that is the beauty of creativity, that it is all around us. It is an active part of our daily experiences because it is so much a part of God and it is so much ingrained into the very fabric and skin of who we are.\u201d\u2014Jocelyn Chung&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Prayer to Lead You<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Loving Father, after you redeemed the children of Isreal from slavery and meaningless work, by the Spirit you created skilled craftsmen among them to bring beauty to their worship, revealing the beauty of the world. Help us to see that you have called each of us to be creative. Help us to see the beauty of what first feels like the most mundane and monotonous work. And in this time of distress in which Anti-Asian racism has shown its ugly face, a time in which Asian elders have been attacked on the streets or spit upon, a time in which Asain persons have been treated like outsiders and invaders, God we ask that you would intervene. Show your love to these suffering people. Help us to join them in their fight for justice and the protection of their people. Help us to find creative ways to demonstrate Your love to our Asian and Pacific Islander neighbors. We pray this in the name of our great redeemer, Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Practice to Begin<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Creativity and artistry are at the very core of human existence. Everyone is an artist. Consider the mathematician seeking an elegant proof for a theorem, a gardener arranging a beautiful array of plants, a coffee shop owner creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for a customer, a salesperson crafting the perfect sales pitch for a new product\u2014in all of these people pursue excellence in creating a work that is uniquely their own. What is one of your many art forms? How can you begin to share your creativity with others?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Questions to Answer<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Jocelyn Chung reminds us that God often uses our creativity for advocacy, protest, and offering a vision of what life could be like. As she shared her heavy heart with us about the sufferings in the Asian and Pacific Islander communities due to the rise of Anti-Asian racism, what might God be calling you to do in this time? How has God gifted you to help? How can your area of creativity bless these people in need?
