In September, Hurricane Dorian hit the Bahamas as a category 5 storm, wiping out many homes and leaving thousands of people homeless. Many people who evacuated have not been able to return home because they have nothing to return to, and many who stayed on the island have struggled to live without the basic means of living that they once had. Abaco, in particular, is an island that was devastated by the storm and where this struggle is the reality for most of its northern citizens.
You can help relieve the suffering of people in the Bahamas who are facing life from a new and more challenging perspective. By joining the Unto (formerly GAiN) Engineering Summer Mission trip, you have the opportunity to help people by participating in engineering projects that will help to build the island of Abaco back to what it once was. Not only will you see firsthand the practical and spiritual impact your engineering career path can have on a community, this also is a great opportunity to build your resume and grow in your experience and skills. We are excited to see how God could use this trip in your life and in the lives of the people of Abaco.
The Unto Engineering Summer Mission is open to college students majoring in engineering, construction management, sciences, or similar fields.
To apply, please complete and submit the summer missions application. All applicants will receive a response by March 1.
The listed trip cost is an estimate. Final trip costs will be determined by February 2019.
