Ethiopia

Addis Ababa

This mission is open to both high school and college students. It begins in LA on June 25th with a kick-off conference and mission briefing. Your team will fly to Ethiopia from LAX on June 30th.

A rugged landlocked country, Ethiopia is located in the Horn of Africa. It has a population of 114 million people with more than 80 ethnic groups with as many languages and over 200 dialects. Ethiopia is full of beautiful landscapes and wonderful wildlife. It’s home to the lowest place on the continent, the Danakil Depression which is believed to be the hottest place on earth. Over half of the African mountains are located in Ethiopia. Addis Ababa is the capital of Ethiopia. It is considered one of the busiest cities in Africa and home to the craziest intersection in the world operating without any traffic lights, Meskel Square.

Join us in Addis Ababa for a great opportunity to connect with and befriend Ethiopian students. You will have the chance to speak in classrooms, school assemblies, and school outreaches, and connect with students in common areas. It will be a fun time sharing what it’s like to be a high school student in America and learn about Ethiopian culture. There will be time to follow up with new believers and come alongside in-country staff to help launch spiritual movements on campus.

On this mission, you will have the chance to help with special training for youth leaders in the area and partner with Filter of Hope to provide access to clean drinking water in this community. Come, BE A VOICE, as you build relationships with Ethiopian students and share the life-changing message of the Gospel.
