Puerto Rico

North America island
“Borinquen. Land of the Valiant lord”

Puerto Rico is a Caribbean island and unincorporated U.S. territory with a landscape of mountains, waterfalls, and the El Yunque tropical rainforest. It is only 100 miles long and 35 miles wide, making it the smallest island of the Greater Antilles. Puerto Ricans are predominantly Catholic, yet their beliefs, rituals, and practices often stray outside the orthodox boundaries of Catholicism. Spanish and English are the official languages, but Puerto Rico is overwhelmingly Spanish-speaking, although it is distinctly different from the Spanish spoken in other Latin American or Caribbean regions.

Because only 11% of the people in Puerto Rico have a college degree and 62% fail to complete high school, it is important to reach students on the high school campuses. You will be a part of the college STINT team and will focus on ministering to youth.

Applications are open November 1st - March 1st
