THE HIGH SCHOOL MINISTRY OF CRU

APPLY

Cru is a high school and middle school ministry (formerly known as Student Venture and Campus Crusade for Christ International). The application for any International Mission uses an online system. Below are a few things you need to make sure to do.

1. CLICK ON THE “APPLY FOR GAP YEAR” BUTTON.

These questions will help you determine if you are ready to apply for our Gap Year program.

Once you click on the button you will have multiple options for signing in. Use the one that will work best for you. Or, you can click “Sign Up” to create a user name and password to access your application. If you went on a mission last year, you can enter the same user name and password. Read the instructions carefully. You will not need to fill out the entire application in one sitting. You will have the option of saving your work and coming back to it later. You will need to provide 4 references.

Select four people and have their email addresses handy when you apply, including:

  1. A peer/friend who knows you well.

  2. A spiritual leader. (Preferably this will be a Cru/Campus Crusade for Christ staff person, or you may ask a pastor/youth pastor or adult Bible Study leader – someone who knows you well.)

  3. A teacher/coach or employer.

  4. A parent/guardian.

When you have completed the application you will need to pay the $25.00 application fee. This may be done online with a credit or debit card. Also, you may mail a check or money order (made payable to “Cru”) to Cru – High School International Missions / 100 Lake Hart Dr. MC3200 / Orlando, FL 32832 – 0100. Please do not send cash.

2. HAVE A PARENT/GUARDIAN READ AND SIGN THE PARENT CONSENT PACKET.

Once you submit your application for review, your parent/guardian will receive an email from Cru’s Risk Management Department which will be the Parent Consent Packet. They will need to read and sign the document electronically before your application can be reviewed.

3. ONCE YOU TURN 18 YOU WILL NEED A BACKGROUND CHECK.

We are required by law to perform a background check on anyone who is 18 years of age and will be working with minors. Once you turn 18 you will receive an e-mail from the International Missions office for the background check. Follow the instructions in the e-mail carefully. If you do not receive the e-mail please contact us at hsinternationalmissions@cru.org

4. ONCE ALL THE REQUIRED COMPONENTS OF YOUR APPLICATION ARE RECEIVED, YOUR APPLICATION WILL BE REVIEWED.
Your information will be reviewed carefully and held in the strictest confidence.
