SATURDAY (FEB 6TH)

SEMINAR 1

4:45 PM EST

Bringing Love to Your World

With so much pain, anger, racism, and hate all over the world, how do we bring love to those around us? We hear it all the time: people need Jesus. But how? How do we give people Jesus? How do normal conversations about midterms or Taco Bell or the Packers turn toward Jesus? This seminar will give you what you need to bring love to the world. You’ll walk away knowing how to start a conversation with anyone, anywhere. You can bring the greatest act of love to people countless times in your life—come learn how to do it.

How to Talk About Jesus Without Seeming Like a Freak

What if there was a way to talk to family, friends, even strangers about Jesus that wouldn’t leave you (or them) feeling awkward? What if, instead, people said things like, “That was fun, I’d like to talk about this some more”? In this seminar we’ll talk about how to ask good questions, listen well, and talk about Jesus in a way that centers what’s most interesting about Him to the person you’re hanging with. Together we’ll discuss how to make sure when someone walks away from a Jesus conversation with us they feel excited, interested, and cared for.

Sharing Jesus Means Loving People: Here is How to Do That!

Come hear some of your peers describe the creative, diverse, simple, and life-giving ways they are sharing their faith with others. How are they doing this in a manner that makes others feel loved? In what ways does sharing their faith deepen their own love for Jesus and for people around them?

The Gospel through Many Lenses

The gospel is like a diamond. Sometimes, it helps to look at it from a different angle to allow the light to shine most brilliantly. This seminar will look at how the gospel relates to the key values of different cultures and how it addresses pressure points experienced by people like exclusion and anxiety. We will investigate the Scriptures to see how the gospel of Jesus met people in places of shame, guilt, and fear. As well, we will consider practical ways to share the gospel effectively with those experiencing exclusion and anxiety. If you are looking to grow in your biblical understanding of the gospel and would like to communicate the gospel more robustly, this will be a great place for you.

Show Me Your Faith

Jesus said, “Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven”. To tell the truth of the gospel, we must show the truth. It’s the way Jesus did it- He came to serve, He met needs and people listened. ‘Show me your faith’ is the challenge we face- let’s get at it!

An Invitation into God's Story

I am convinced that there is no better story in all the earth than the biblical narrative we read in the Bible from cover to cover. And even better, God invites us to live in this story with Him! We get to actively participate- dramatizing this story for the world to taste and see how truly good it is. God’s people must be the ones constantly speaking and living out this compelling vision of the Kingdom of God that’s come and is coming… but no one gets the Kingdom without the King. In this session we’ll talk about partnering with God to invite others to take their rightful place in His big story.

SEMINAR 2

6:00 PM EST

Why Does God Care Who I Sleep With?

On any given day there are enough awful things happening in the world- injustice, poverty, suffering and environmental disasters. So why on earth would God concern Himself with who we sleep with? Join us as we look for a proper understanding of the teachings of Jesus on this most personal of subjects.

Gripped by Anxiety

We all experience anxiety – it is part of our shared humanity in an unpredictable world. In this seminar, we will explore some of the ways in which we experience anxiety, different theories on the nature of anxiety, and practical coping skills. Our hope is that this seminar would help you explore your own story and envision what it might look like to invite others in and be transformed by God in grace and authenticity. Laura holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Ashland Seminary.

Me: Stop Looking at Your Phone
Also Me: Just One More Tik Tok

What do loneliness, anxiety, depression, and shallow spirituality have in common? Your phone! Come learn some practical steps you can take to put down your phone and live a full life, better connected to God and others.

Sanctification is a Process

The Christian life is not supposed to be a burden. Why then is it so easy to feel stuck and discouraged? In this seminar, we’ll talk about sanctification: how to experience the growth that God wants to work in our lives. If you have been a Christian for 20 years or for 20 minutes, come spend some time soaking in God’s plan to rid you of guilt and shame and set you free- for joyful, transformative life in His family.

Every Word

The Bible is one unified story- it tells the true story of the whole world. In this seminar, you will learn the framework of the Bible’s story. We will also provide you with practical tools and tips to read every word of the Bible for yourself. When you understand God’s story and find your place in it, everything changes.

Continuing with Community: Why the Local Church Needs You & You Need the Local Church

It’s 2021- you can “go to church” anywhere around the world with a click of a button. The best worship, the best communicators- they are right at your fingertips. But finding a solid community of people after college can be a beast. Just like our relationships in college help to shape us and inform us, so will those new relationships- after college. In this seminar we will talk about the challenges ahead, why finding a healthy local church benefits you, and how your participation benefits them!

Feeling Socially Distanced? Moving from Isolation to Authentic Connection

We are created for authentic community, yet we struggle to find the connection we crave. What role does shame and spiritual battle play in keeping us from experiencing all that Jesus has for us in community? How do we intentionally allow ourselves to be truly known? How do we create safe places for others? Does social media help or hurt us in our quest to connect? We will talk honestly about God’s heart for all of us to live in an authentic grace and truth community. We will also discuss steps we can take to live our lives in rich connection with God and others.

Play, Pray, Rest

Where and when have you experienced the delight of God? What would you do for 24 hours if the only criteria was to pursue your deepest joy? These questions are invitations to remember that you were created to connect with God and encounter His goodness. In a season where you have been stretched thin and have tried to stay afloat amidst chaos, there is a celebration and taste of pleasure waiting for you. It can be found in the spiritual disciplines of playing, praying, and resting. Our time together will include engaging the Scriptures, story telling, and gaining practical ways to engage in these disciplines. They will bring connection to Jesus, curiosity and abundance!

Dialoguing with Your Doubts

Is God really there? What if I don’t feel His presence? Is any of this stuff in the Bible even possible? Often, we live in fear of our doubt- believing that it is meant to be ignored rather than explored. In this seminar we hope to engage with our doubt and discuss practical ways to move forward as Christians, even with our questions.

Another Advocate

The Holy Spirit conjures up a plethora of images and emotions for several different people in several different ways. As a result it’s easy to pigeonhole the Holy Spirit into whatever perspective we’re comfortable with. Unfortunately to do so undermines the greatness of who He is, as well as the vibrancy of life when aware of His leading. In this seminar our aim is to work through what might be confusing or challenging, strengthening our understanding of who the Holy Spirit is and how He’s at work, so that we can join Him in the work as well.
