Rich Perez /// Author, Pastor /// NYC, NY

From restocking mini-bars in an upscale SoHo hotel, to teaching high school English in Queens, Rich has worked almost everywhere in New York City. But unlike his scattered work journey, Rich’s story is primarily bred from one place: Uptown.

Rich studied film at The City College of New York and biblical theology at Elim Bible Institute. Through a variety of speaking experiences, Rich has explored how those two passions connect, while growing into a unique storyteller and thought leader in faith, family, the arts, and the Hispanic-American experience.  Rich is the recent author of Mi Casa Uptown: Learning to Love Again, a memoir looking to push back the stigmas of city life and retell the inner-city story with faith and imagination.

In 2011, Rich and a team of friends started a church in his hometown that would embrace the very values they lived with. Rich is the lead pastor of Christ Crucified Fellowship in NYC, where he lives with his wife and kids.

After 9 years in the Red River Region (Texas State and Oklahoma State), she packed her bags for a year STINT in Ethiopia- the country of her heart. After her eyes were open to the needs of the world, she was asked to help send college student to the world from Hot-lanta and served with Global Missions in the formerly Southeast region as the Associate National Director. In the last 6 months she transitioned to her 2nd missionary journey with the Jesus Film Project, a Cru ministry, on the global partnerships team. She works with church planters, disciple making ministries and other organizations, like YWAM that use the Jesus Film to advance their Kingdom purposes.

When not on a plane, she is at home in Atlanta, zipping around town connecting and serving at her church Atlanta Westside. Kari loves college students, lives changed by the Holy Spirit, and yes, some good southern hospitality.
