Our Response

Thankfully, we are not left alone in the battle against injustice in our world.

We have a God who cares deeply about those enslaved everywhere. He knows them by name. And He’s already given us an invitation into their stories of freedom and redemption thousands of years ago.

In Isaiah 58:6 we see it proclaimed, “Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?”

God commissions us into something much larger than ourselves; to connect across borders, race, class, gender, religion; to labor towards the goal of freedom for every person to release the full power of redemption onto earth.

In the face of the expanse and depth of modern day slavery it is easy to feel overwhelmed or fearful, leaving us apathetic or downtrodden in the midst. But what if we were to operate in the knowledge and truth that God is the one who called us into the battle? And if we believe that to be true then the numbers and impossibilities can only stand as an indication that God is in the work.

Why not explore what God might have for you in the journey to freedom and liberty for all?

Together, our efforts large and small serve as the frontline defense for those unable to defend themselves, boldly displaying courage and compassion as characteristic of the body of Christ.

Together we make up the Justice Team.

This is our work, engaging students by helping them to understand how to respond to injustices in their community and world in a Christ-like way.

We equip students with a fuller understanding of Biblical justice, expose them to anti-slavery/human trafficking work in the US and abroad, and provide opportunities to be involved in the work of justice as a student and beyond.
