The winner of the Bart Starr Award will be announced during the 22nd annual NFL-sanctioned Super Bowl Breakfast, hosted by Athletes in Action, on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 8:00 a.m. EST at the USF Sun Dome.

The 2009 breakfast program features NFL athletes and coaches, including Indianapolis Colts Head Coach Tony Dungy, NFL Hall of Famers Bart Starr and Anthony Munoz, Tampa Bay Buccaneer Derrick Brooks and former San Francisco 49er Brent Jones as emcee.

The recipient of the Bart Starr Award is determined by NFL player balloting at the end of the regular season, making the award 1 of only 2 individual honors selected by the players themselves.

The Bart Starr award reflects Starr's lifelong commitment to serving as a
positive role model to his family, teammates and community. Past winners of the award include LaDainian Tomlinson, Derrick Brooks, John Lynch, Reggie White, Mike Singletary, Cris Carter, Aeneas Williams and Curtis Martin.

The Super Bowl Breakfast is an Athletes in Action Sports Legend Series event. The Sports Legend Series is comprised of 4 premier events designed to honor athletes and coaches who model exemplary character, values and integrity.
