SUMMARY:
Installs, modifies, and makes repairs to personal computer hardware and software systems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following:
Repairs, replaces, installs or assists in installation of hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers, and disk drives on user's premises. Loads specified software packages such as operating systems, word processing, or spreadsheet programs into computer. Enters commands and observes system functions to verify correct system operation. Responds to client inquiries concerning systems operation and diagnoses system hardware, software, and operator problems. Meets with users to determine needs, researches needed equipment or upgrades and places orders for equipment. Answers user computer problems over phone including software, hardware and network problems. Contacts outside vendors for technical support with problems as necessary. Logs software and hardware requests for reporting and billing purposes. Maintains current knowledge of new hardware, software, diagnostic tools, network and other computer related information.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and over three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
