New Australian Mission Center Celebrates God's Faithfulness

On the back of a special 24-hour prayer chain in March 2008, guests, ministry partners, donors, team members and missionaries crowded into the new National Mission Center, headquarters of Cru in Australia (CCCA).

In a special evening of celebration of God's faithfulness, the new facility was dedicated to the ongoing mission of reaching people in Australia and beyond with the life transforming love of Jesus.

"Tonight is not about a building, but about recognizing the awesome works of God in providing us with the people, the resources and facilities to connect with people and transform lives," said Bill Hodgson, CCCA National Director.

After a time of worship and several stories of changed lives, Paul Lacy, CCCA operations leader, spoke about the relocation of the headquarters staff member team from Sydney to Melbourne.

Tom Slater, Director of the Australian Evangelical Alliance, prayed for God's blessing on the ministry. Businessman Peter Comben dedicated the facility to God's glory and fruitfulness through the ongoing ministry of the 177 fulltime CCCA team members and over 50 associates.

To close the program, Bill Hodgson recounted the story of God's financial provision, including the $961,000 of the $1,206,000 required for the total purchase.

"We continue to look to the Lord with eager faith expectation for the provision of the remaining $245,000 in the next few months through others who want to be a part of God's awesome work of provision," he said.

The Mission Centre houses CCCA's national leadership, finance and operations, as well as Youth Ministries Australia, Oz FamilyLife and Student Life teams.
